Computer-Aided Design is the technology used to digitally create 2D drawings and 3D models of products prior to their manufacture. EA uses a variety of CAD software programs and techniques to bring customer ideas to an efficiently manufacturable reality.
Compared with “back of the napkin” fab shops without full CAD design capabilities, EA is able to engineer precise, efficient solutions to best suit customer needs. CAD software allows smaller tolerances, more (and more efficient) revisions, greater customization, and increased efficiency of production.
EA uses all of our CAD technology and know-how to design products suitable for 3D printing.
For site-specific products and installations, digital design capabilities are best paired with meticulous site evaluations and inspections. Dimensional accuracy is key. In some instances, templates are created or the product is “dry fit” at the installation site prior to final install. The more rigorous the site templating and dimensioning, the better the installation. Without dimensional accuracy in the measurement and design phase (and the production techniques and tolerances to match) the final product will be inferior.
Using dimensional measurement instruments such as laser measurement devices, calipers, tapes, templates, and a practiced eye EA personnel conduct the most rigorous site templating in the fabrication business. We are onsite as often as required to get the best possible design and installation for your product.
EA uses a variety of 3D modeling techniques and software. SolidWorks, Rhino, and Keyshot are our primary mapping and modeling tools.
SolidWorks is our go-to computer-aided modeling and design software package. It is an industry-leading technology, and EA personnel are highly trained in its use.
Rhino is another computer-aided 3D design tool. Although SolidWorks is EA’s primary 3D Modeling tool, Rhino gives us additional capabilities in terms of organic shape modeling.
Keyshot is another computer-aided 3D design tool. Although SolidWorks is EA’s primary 3D Modeling tool, Keyshot gives us additional capabilities in terms of rendering and display.
